I'm not familiar enough with the processes involved to know why the behavior is different with different websites, players, formats and file types. If someone has an example of a situation where it would work, and then an example of a situation where it wouldn't, that would be grand. Unbanable , Jan 26, I think it depends on the type of video But other videos are not downloaded in their entirety to the cache.

How to get most out of this new technology? All you have to do is to press the pause button once the video started to play until the red bar progress bar reaches to the end. Now, come to the point and see how can you save buffered videos from browser cached files. Before applying this trick you should know about some basic thing to understand what happens actually. When you open the YouTube from your browser and play a video, it started to download a copy of that video file as a temporary Internet file also known as browser cache and store them in browser cache folder.

However, these files are accessible from the browser cache folder of that browser. This browser cache folder location is variable for different browsers and different Operating systems.

Thread starter bigdan Start date Jul 23, Messages I was streaming a video online but then got disconnected. I tried to find the downloaded content on my computer but havent been successful. Does it not exist in this OS? Streaming Videos are not fully downloaded to your PC. They only download the "buffer" part to your PC which then gets replaced every time new content is needed.

Included in that is the fact that the buffer will only be limited to the size you specify, which could be as little as 5MB or as large as MB. So you will not have the full video downloaded on your PC and you will have to go back to the site and watch it via streaming methods again.

This is the whole point of streaming media, that they are not stored on the local machine. If they were, then anything you streamed via Netflix, Hulu or any other paid service could be gotten for free and pirated.

OK understood. But I was searching because I wanted something 1 min in. Where would it be stored if it is indeed saved on my computer.
